I want to praise Pos Malaysia!

Normally, people only will complain about Pos Malaysia, complain about their lousy service. Since we come to Netherlands, we use Pos Malaysia's services very often. Normally our parcel would receive fastest within one week. Some would be very late, eg. 2 weeks for almost RM200 postage! When my sister first told me that she posted one parcel for us last Tuesday (21st August). Inside the parcel, they put in some present for Anne (for her 2nd birthday), a plastic musical lantern for Anne, some paper lantern and most importantly - some moon cake! She said, officer in Pos Malaysia (Miri Branch) told her that the parcel needs 2 weeks to reach here. 2 weeks, will be after Anne's birthday. OK, nevermind. But I am worried about the moon cake. Can the moon tahan the 2 weeks? My sister said this is a registered parcel, not Pos Laju some more! And the postage only cost RM54.50.

Guess how long it takes for the parcel to reach here? You are not going to believe this. 3 days!!! Tiga hari!!! Can you believe this? 3 days for a parcel to reach here from Miri, Sarawak, Malaysia to Delft, Netherlands. I cannot believe my eyes when I saw the collect-slip send by the postman here today. This is such an excellent sevice I have ever get from Post Malaysia. I am extremely surprised!

OK, I must say this, WELL DONE POST MALAYSIA!

Handphone Radiation

Got this email from my friend, just be more careful when you use a handphone!!

************************************************************

This morning I heard a sad real story from my colleague. She told me one ofher friend always miscarriage when the baby 2-3 months old for few timescontinuously in few years time. The couple went to check with many doctorsand lastly one of the doctor check on the death baby and found out thebaby's body cells keeping die when baby growing up until he/she cannot besurvived. This is because her uterus has been affected by HANDPHONE radiotion. The doctor told she has no chance to get baby no matter howbecause the radiotion affected her uterus which the major portion of heruterus cells already death, cannot carry healthy baby. All this because ofshe has been keeping her handphone in her working jacket which the positionjust right to the uterus positon for few years time. Please beware and takenote the consequences is not worth.

Dearest family members, please do not overlook the handphone radiationwhich will affect our health or body organs. Please put away your handphonewhen ever you don't need it much. Guys, please do not keep your handphonenear to the kidney position and pants pocket as this will hurt and affectyour "production" if you plan to get baby.

The other doctor also advice another friend to keep away handphone to hernew born baby to avoid radiotion to baby's brain and cells. Do not let thebaby or toddler play with the handphone for long time. Because the smallyoung baby or toddler still very fragile and most probably they cannot takethe radiotion.

Please remind yourself do not sleep together with your handphone or putnext to your bed. Keep away any other electronic goods (such as tv also)which got radiotion away from your bedroom to reduce risk as we have tosleep few hours a day in our bedroom at night. Do not think that you switchoff the TV it will be no radiotion actually it is still around in your roomjust not eyes visible. Even the small alarm clock not to be advised to putjust next to your head while sleeping.

Care about yourself and people that you love.

PPP: I want a Watch!

When I was in Malaysia, I seldom wear my watch. I only keep one function watch! Why I do not need a watch? You see, I was either at home or at the office most of the time. When I was at home, I prefer my hands to be free of any accessories. When I was at office, I depend to my PC's clock. If I went out, I will use my handphone to check on time. I did not see the need of a watch. But, once I come to Netherlands, I am so lazy to bring my handphone out with me. I do not like to keep my handphone in my pocket and I afraid I will lost my beg that I keep my handphone when I am too busy chasing Anne around. I see the need for me to get a watch now! I found that these Timex Watches is really nice and suite my taste! I should start bugging Loong to buy one for me! :-)

So tired!

As you know, I started my potty training session with Anne last week. She is yet to know to tell me before she wants to pee. From her reaction, you can tell that she wants to pee. But, when I put her on her potty or toilet seat, she won't pee. She will pee on the floor few minutes after she get up from her potty or toilet seat. I am so tired repeating the same sentence to her now. So, I decided to stop forcing her to pee into potty or toilet. I decided not to scold her also. I will only let her wear her diaper during her sleeps time and when we go out. The rest of the time will be either wearing cloth-diaper or pants only. Let's see with this method, how long she needs to be fully potty trained.

Anyway, during the potty training session, I changed her quite often. The result is, she learn to wear pants by herself. Not success all the time, but at least some time she will success! It' fun to see her try to wear pants by herself! :-)

Smorty

Since I decided to join the fun of blog for money, I only earn my money from one site! Due to the reason that blog advertising is become so popular now, I am happy to find another way for me to earn some extra pocket money from Smorty. Smorty is a service connecting advertisers with bloggers. Advertisers can pay bloggers to write opinion posts with links back to the advertisers site. The best part is, Smorty will email new campaigns to all suitable bloggers. This mean, I do not need to logon to Smorty to look for opportunities. I registered myself on last Friday and surprise that they actually approved my blog on Sunday, in just 2 day they approved my blog! Don't you think they are efficient? Now, I can earn extra money from different compamy not fully depend to one company. I also can buy more toys to Anne and of course some good things for myself as well!!!

What are you waiting for? Get yourself a blog and join me to blog for money!

PPP: Home Improvement.

This is a sponsored post.

One of my blogger friend are searching for some home remodeling idea because she would like to remodel her old house. When she told me about her idea on her house, I started to start imagine about my dream house. If I can afford a house, I will definately opt for a landed property. I wish my children will have a largerer area to play.

While searching on home improvement related idea, I am so surprise to find this site and read about the fact that "The best way to reduce traffic noise is actually to break up the sound waves.". One of the idea given is by put up a sturdy fence, or just can plant some trees. Yes, just trees. What a cheap way. I belief I can find more great information from the site.

Looking for home improvement ideas? Why not get your idea here as well?

Billy Beer Restaurant.

We seldom eat outside food. Main reason is, because it is expensive. If I opted to cook our dinner, each meal I think I only need €5.00 for a complete meal which include rice, 1 vege, 1 meat or even 1 soup. Anyway, since it was my birthday that day, I did not want to cook. We went our for our first self-paid western food in Netherlands.

We choose this Billy Beer Restaurant after reading some good review from GoGoDutch.com. Main reason also because this is a children friendly restaurant, as indicated by some of the reviewer.

This restaurant is decorated with a lot of teddy bears, children will love this place.

I ordered Ribeye steak - €16.50, oranged juice - €2.50 and Loong ordered Mixed fish platter, beer - €2.00 - €14.20. Total we spent that night - €35.20.

My Ribeye steak:

Loong's Mixed fish platter:

Our bill came together with there sweets! :-) The food just normal, but Anne enjoyed eating french fried that normally I would not allow her to eat so much!

PPP: Missionary travel agency

This is a sponsored post.

After I graduated from University, before I started my first work which requested me to join 2 weeks after my graduation, I decided to go for a missionary trip to a small village in Pahang - Kuala Lipis. This was an memorable one week missionary trip for me. All of us were from the same fellowship - Chuan Ai Fellowship and we had the same mission, that is to help the church in Kuala Lipis to spread Jesus's love to local people. In our country, we do not have a Missionary travel agency, we need to plan our journey, our program and our lodging by ourself. We were students, we cannot afford high cost. How I wish we could have this kind of Missionary travel agency which can help us to find the cheapest missionary flights for us so we can save the money to use in other purpose.

Planning for a missionary trip? You can find a lot of useful information at Golden Rule Travel. You can read some touching testimonials on Missionary and Testimonials page. Workers are ready to help by on their cell phone service 24/7. They offer a full range of travel services to individuals, church groups, NGOs, humanitarian agencies, and missionary organizations. I remember that it is very important to save every cents we spent during the trip, especially on travel expenses. Golden Rule Travel even have special contracts with airlines for missionaries, so that you can get the lowest possible airfare.

How I wish our country can have this kind of Missionary travel agency. With this kind of services available, we can put more efford in our program than spending time looking for a cheap fare.

"When God's Call Sends You Around The World, A Call To Golden Rule Travel Will Take You There."

Sorry Anne...

Just now, I felt so sorry that I scold Anne badly just because she peed on the floor. The minute before she peed, I asked her whether she wanted to pee or not and she replied "NO". Then she pees soon after I left her in the living room and went to kitchen. Suddently I heard she said: "Wet, wet, how?". I was so angry to see her peed on the floor. She wanted me to help her took off her pants but I refused. I wanted to let her know the "wet" feeling. She cried pittifully!

When I think back what I had done, I feel that I have very low EQ. Why should I get angry with a toddler who just started her potty training process few days ago? I wrote this down is to remind myself not to put high standard on my girl. I wish she can have a happy toddlerhood not always scold by mother only! OK, I will try my best to control my temper next time!

PPP: British Gas Launches Greenest Energy Tariff

This is a sponsored post.

Due to global climate change, some of the country has started to put more effort to become an environmentally friendly country. Main intention is to ensure safety of any natures. Recently, British Gas has announced it is launching two new green energy tariffs, Zero Carbon, which will be the greenest tariff available on the domestic market and Future Energy. Consumers signing up to the tariff can be confident that they are getting 12 per cent more renewable energy than they would otherwise have got. For more information, you can have a look at the press release attached.

Press Release:

BRITISH GAS LAUNCHES GREENEST ENERGY TARIFF

9 August 2007: British Gas has announced it is launching two new green energy tariffs, Zero Carbon, which will be the greenest tariff available on the domestic market and Future Energy. British Gas has launched the tariffs, in response to the increasing demand for green energy products.

Householders signing up to the Zero Carbon tariff will:
  • reduce their household energy carbon emissions to zero through Kyoto compliant offset schemes which will meet the new Defra requirements
  • help fund a direct increase in investment in renewable energy generated in the UK
  • contribute to the new British Gas green fund which will:
  1. invest in developing new renewable technologies such as wave power
  2. oversee a programme to help schools in the UK reduce their CO2 emissions

Gearóid Lane, Managing Director British Gas New Energy said,”Our new tariff responds to consumer demand for truly green energy solutions. It is essential that customers have confidence in green energy tariffs and that their credibility is not damaged by tariffs that claim to be green but in reality do not deliver any incremental environmental benefits. Green tariffs are moving from niche to mainstream products and we’re leading the industry by offering a tariff that will do more for the environment than any other product currently available.”

Under the government’s Renewables Obligation (RO), electricity suppliers in the UK are already required to produce an increasing percentage of their electricity through methods such as wind farms which, unlike traditional power plants, produce zero carbon emissions. For 2007/2008 this figure is set at 7.9%.

In a recent report, the National Consumer Council (NCC) raised concerns that some energy suppliers are packaging electricity which is produced under the RO scheme as “green”, yet it delivers no additional environmental benefits. The NCC called on energy suppliers to take steps beyond their legal requirements and offer green energy tariffs that provide genuine additional environmental benefits, in particular CO2 emissions reduction.

British Gas worked with Global Action Plan and The Climate Group’s “We’re in this Together” campaign to develop Zero Carbon which goes further than any other green tariff in meeting these requirements offering consumers the only zero carbon option on the market.

The tariff carries a premium of £84 per year, reflecting the higher cost of producing energy through lower carbon emission schemes.

Virginia Graham, Chair of Global Action Plan, said, “The British Gas Zero Carbon tariff delivers on all three of the essential requirements of a green tariff which are: additionality, transparency and verifiability. As such it is a very welcome new offering in the market. Consumers signing up to the tariff can be confident that they are getting 12 per cent more renewable energy than they would otherwise have got. The carbon emissions from their electricity and gas will also be offset with emissions reductions from projects accredited by the United Nations.”

Zero Carbon is one of the first initiatives launched through the ‘We’re in this Together’ campaign, which was launched in April 07 as an alliance of some of the UK’s biggest brands who are all working to help their customers reduce their impact on the climate.

Dr Steve Howard, CEO of The Climate Group and founder of ‘We’re in this Together’ said, “We’re committed to offering people ways to make a real impact on climate change through Together.com. We’ve worked with British Gas to ensure that Zero Carbon is a genuine step forward in delivering more environmental benefits than any other tariff currently available.”

British Gas’s second green energy tariff, Future Energy, offers an alternative green electricity tariff at a premium of just £20 per year. Customers signing up to this tariff will contribute to a green fund which will provide solar panels and other renewable energy technologies to UK schools. Money from the fund will also be invested in development of future renewable technologies and sources.

To sign up customers can call British Gas on 0845 604 0055 or visit www.britishgas.co.uk

The Secret to a Lasting Marriage

My sister emailed the following story to me. It's worth reading!

**********************************************************************************

When I was a little girl, my mom liked to make breakfastfood for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night inparticular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work.

On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage, and extremely burned toast in front of my dad. I remember waiting tosee if anyone noticed! Yet, all my dad did was reached for his toast, smiled at my mom, and asked me how my day was at school.

I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that toast and eat every bite! When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad for burning the toast. And I'll never forget what he said: "Baby, I love burned toast."

Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his toast burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, "Debbie, your mommy put in a hard day at work today and she's real tired. And besides, a little burnt toast never hurt anyone!"

In bed that night, I thought about that scene at dinner... and the kindness my daddy showed my mom. To this day, it's a cherished memory from my childhood that I'll never forget. And it's one that came tomind just recently when Jack and I sat down to eat dinner.

I had arrived home late... as usual... and decided we would have breakfast food for dinner. Some things never change, I suppose!

To my amazement, I found the ingredients I needed, and quickly beganto cook eggs, turkey sausage, and buttered toast. Thinking I had things under control, I glanced through the mail for the day. It was only a few minutes later that I remembered that I had forgotten to take the toast out of the oven!

Now, had it been any other day -- and had we had more than two pieces of bread in the entire house -- I would have started all over. But it had been one of those days and I had just used up the last two piecesof bread. So burnt toast it was!

As I set the plate down in front of Jack, I waited for a comment aboutthe toast. But all I got was a "Thank you!" I watched as he ate bite by bite, all the time waiting for some comment about the toast. But instead, all Jack said was, "Babe, this is great. Thanks for cooking tonight. I know you had a hard day."

As I took a bite of my charred toast that night, I thought about my mom and dad...how burnt toast hadn't been a deal-breaker for them. And I quietly thanked God for giving me a marriage where burnt toast wasn't a deal-breaker either!

You know, life is full of imperfect things...and imperfect people. I'm not the best housekeeper or cook. And you might be surprised to findout that Jack isn't the perfect husband! He likes to play his music too loud, he will always find a way to avoid yard work, and he watches far too many sports. Believe it or not, watching " Golf Academy " is not my idea of a great night at home!

But somehow in the past 37 years Jack and I have learned to accept the imperfections in each other. Over time, we have stopped trying to make each other in our own mold and have learned to celebrate our differences. You might say that we've learned to love each other for who we really are!

For example, I like to take my time, I'm a perfectionist, and I'm even-tempered. I tend to work too much and sleep too little. Jack, onthe other hand, is disciplined, studious, an early riser, and is a marketer's dream consumer. I count pennies and Jack could care less! Where he is strong, I am weak, and vice versa.

And while you might say that Jack and I are opposites, we're also very much alike. I can look at him and tell you what he's thinking. I can predict his actions before he finalizes his plans. On the other hand, he knows whether I'm troubled or not the moment I enter a room.

We share the same goals. We love the same things. And we are still best friends. We've traveled through many valleys and enjoyed many mountain tops. And yet, at the same time, Jack and I must work every minute of every day to make this thing called "marriage" work!

What I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each other's faults - and choosing to celebrate each other's differences - is the one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting marriage relationship.

And that's my prayer for you today. That you will learn to take the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your married life and lay them at the feet of GOD. Because in the end, He's the only One who will be able to give you a marriage where burnt toast isn't a deal-breaker!

Have a great day! May God bless your marriage.

PPP: Storage Bed

This is a sponsored post.

In Netherlands, most of the houses here do not have a large squarefeet. The student apartment that we are renting also not large enough. I always find that it is so hard for me to find a place to keep things that is not oftenly in use. As you know, we have 4 seasons in Netherlands. We need to have clothes for different seasons. It is hard for me to find a proper place to keep our clothes espeacially winter coat which need a big space to keep. How I wish I can have a under bed storage or even better, a king bed with storage so that I can keep some of the winter coat nicely under my bed!

Looking for a bedroom set? Don't you think the storage bed features at http://furniturefromhome.com/ is a great product? This platform bookcase bed with plenty of storage, dresser, mirror, night stand package is not only beautiful, but it has a price made for the books! Plenty of additional storage space within the bed frame is a unique find that is greatly sought after. Most importantly, it made from quality hardware, solid wood! I am sure your lover will love to come home earlier to enjoy the comfortable rest on a quality bed!

What you think?

When come to potty train Anne, Loong is not that supportive. You see, I am the one who will be blamed by my mother, MIL and SIL for not potty train Anne now, not HIM!! He is the one who always reject my intention to potty train Anne. Started yesterday, I decided to ignore his comment. I let Anne go diaper-less during day time (except her nap time). She pees every where around the house. I don't care. I think this is just temporary, but not Loong. When he is at home, he always request me to let Anne wear her diaper. I want to be consistent during the potty train process. What for sekejap pakai, sekejap tak pakai? When Anne pees, he will get angry some more... Do you think I did something wrong? Why he gets angry just because Anne pees? I am sure if I don't potty train Anne before we go back to Malaysia this year Anne, when we are back, I will shoot by my in laws for sure! He won't get scold, I will.

I don't care. I don't want to care so much! I have decided to potty train Anne now!! NOW!!! Wish me good luck, ok?

The following items were my new "tools" in potty train Anne, a training-toilet-seat and 2 training pants (she rejected potty!).

PPP: Aluminum Cabinets

This is a sponsored post.

Unlike steel, aluminum will not rust or deteriorate when exposed to moisture. Unlike wood, aluminum is resistant to mold, mildew and corrosion.

Would you put aluminum cabinets line in your kitchen? I think I will because aluminum is a good and last for long material which is very suitable for kitchen. I love solid wood, so I will choose brown color as my kitchen's main color. Most importantly, aluminum cabinet is very easy to clean. When you cook, you cannot avoid your kitchen become oily (especially chinese that cook with wok). If your kitchen cabinet is an aluminium cabinet, you just need a piece of cloth to mop the surface of the cabinet after you have done your cooking. Not like other material, eg. wood which will look so ugly and difficult to clean when cover by a layer of sticky oil.

So, will you consider to put aluminium cabinets in your kitchen?

Pissed!

Last weekend, we joined IHE's excursion to Belgium. It was a 2 days 1 night trip. I will talk about the trip in my other blog. Here, I want to complaint about one China girl in our group. I think she do not have common sense. We were in a group, we must think of other people when we were in a group! But this girl is so terrible. Never punctual. Always late! Whole group wait for her and her gang. You see, if she lost her way or she said sorry when she come, then I am OK. But she didn't show any sign of regret. She was late, she some more can walk slow slow like that... Another China guy also beh-tahan and told her that she was late. She said: "My gang getting bigger leh!" (that time another 3 China followed her footsteps!). I am so pissed by this girl... Then, the way she talks in the bus is like talking to the whole bus, so loud and clear! Bising!!! I do not have her picture, if I have... I will show her face big, big here!

PPP: Portable Scanner

This is a sponsored post.

Talking about scanner make me think of my first scanner. Not mine, actually. That scanner belongs to Loong (that time still my boy friend). I need a scanner to scan some pictures on brouchers for my thesis purpose. Believe or not, the scanner is still our one and only scanner until now. It keeps in a store room for a long time already because We only will use it once in a blue moon. Since we moved from JB to KL, we didn't even take it out from the box, install it and use it. Why? This is a good question. Because I am too lazy to take it out from the box and find a place to put it and install it. The worst part is, after I use it I have to put it back into the box and put it back into our store room. Our computer table do not have enough space for this scanner. In another word - our scanner is HUGE! It need a BIG space to locate it! How I wish I can have a light and portable scanner.

I was surprise when I first found out about this ScanShell 2000N (2000NR) portable document scanner. The ScanShell 2000N (2000NR) portable scanner is the ideal A4 color scanner for the busy professionals and executives. This light weight (only 14oz/390g) and convenient scanner is powered using only the USB 2.0 port allows for a fast and easy one-cable hook up to your notebook or desktop PC. More importantly, it is conveniently carried along with a laptop and requires a minimal footprint on the desktop. Besides that, ScanShell 2000N (2000NR) also enables users to fax, email and organize all of business documents, with the "touch of a button".

Bundled software - DocShell is an easy to use utility that scan documents and export the scanned image into existing, pre-installed application on the user's pc (PDF,Microsoft paint etc.). The scanned document can be saved to one of the following image types: BMP, JPG, TIF, PSD, PCX, PNG or TGA. With the utility provided, I believe you will become more professional in imaging.

Looking for a portable scanner? You can read more about ScanShell 2000N (2000NR) here!

The Manager's Way.

If you are a manager... Then, don't continue your reading!

A team of Managers was given an assignment to measure the height of aflagpole. So the Managers go out to the flagpole with ladders and tape. They're falling off the ladders, dropping the tape measures - the wholething is just a mess.

An Engineer comes along and sees what they're trying to do, walks over, pulls the flagpole out of the ground, lays it flat, measures it from end toend, gives the measurement to one of the managers and walks away.

After the Engineer has gone, one manager turns to another and laughs. "Seethis idiot. We're looking for height and he gives the length!"

Moral: "No matter what good you do, Managers can always find fault in you".

Manager, are you reading?? This is only a joke, ok?

I only can cook those simple dish which do not required things like oven! Yes, I do not have an oven now! So, in future, when we have sattle down in our own house, I am sure I will put a lot of efford and money to get my kitchen done!

Next, my master bedroom. One will spent 1/3 of his life time to sleep. That's why a good bed is very important to me. I love to sleep! So, I must have a good mattress, good pillow so that I can have a very good quality sleep. I fall in love at first sight with all the Bedroom Furniture show in this furniture website: http://furniturefromhome.com/. I love solid wood furniture. They last for long, looks pretty and solid. My mother in law once told me that, when we bought a bed, must get a king size bed. Why? Because when you have a quarrel with your other half, the bed is still big enough to saparate the 2 husband and wife. True or not? Depend to individuals.

Study room or home office is another important area in my future house. When talking about home office, the most important furniture will be a cabinet that can fix in all the books we have. Beside a multi-purpose study table also play an important part. Browse here for Furniture Home Office. You can see that all the home office furniture are designed to make your home office looks comfortable and make full use of the space. You will love to work from home if you decorated your study room/home office like that.

PPP: Online Shopping

Since Anne can walk, I just prefer to do shopping online. I do not have to shop and at the same time my eyes and hand cannot leave Anne alone. I just cannot concentrate to choose clothes or anything that I want to buy when I go shopping with my super active girl.

Online shopping coupons is a way for online shopper to save money. Before I found out about conline coupons, when I want to buy something online, the first thing I put in consideration is the shipping fees. Sometimes, the shipping fees can be greater than the fees that I paid for the item I bought. With coupons code, I can save my money from the discount given and even can save my shipping fees because some merchant provide free shipping for certain amount you spent.

I just love to shop for children stuffs. My sister will give birth end of this year, that´s why I started to search for some baby item to buy for her. I found this Baby Universe Coupons quite suit me. BabyUniverse is the leading Internet destination for new and expectant parents. It is dedicated to providing new and expectant parents and their friends and family with a one-stop "shop" for all of the products necessary for pregnancy, babies and toddlers. I belief I can get what I want here easily.

You can find a lot more online coupons here, the site is updated daily with the latest coupons and product deals. Enjoy your shopping!

PPP: BP factory in Whiting, Indiana

BP as the world's current and historical energy trends is always committed to minimizing the environmental impact of their actions. BP oil refinery produces 410,000 barrels per calendar day stand as the top five U.S refineries operable capacity was reported for going to dump significantly more ammonia and industrial sludge into Lake Michigan, running counter to years of efforts to clean up the Great Lakes.

Recently, the Chicago Tribune ran an article about a BP Factory in Whiting, Indiana and misrepresented some important facts. According to Chicago Tribune article, the massive BP oil refinery in Whiting, Indiana, is planning to dump significantly more ammonia and industrial sludge into Lake Michigan. They claim that Indiana regulators exempted BP from state environmental laws to clear the way for a $3.8 billion expansion that will allow the company to refine heavier Canadian crude oil. They justified the move in part by noting the project will create 80 new jobs.

What's BP's explanation to the misrepresented points post up by Chicago Tribune? To understand more about BP's Whiting Refinery facts, you can read the article here. From the document, we know that what is released from BP's refinery is treated water that is more than 99.9% water - not sludge. All sludge is treated separately, according to state and federal requirements, and never discharged into Lake Michigan. Besides that, a new water discharge permit allows the refinery's average ammonia discharge to increase, but at levels that will still be less than half of those that federal environmental guidelines could allow. Most impotantly is all treated water released has no harm to people or the environment. For the benefit of the environment, the Whiting Refinery voluntarily reduced total suspended solids in its water discharge by 40% in just the past four years.

From the economy points of view, to reduce reliance on sources in Middle East, BP at the same time focuses her investment in Canadian crude oil in order to sustain her business for longer time. BP definitely would not ruin her businesses. Therefore, they have aggressively markets itself as an environmentally friendly corporation by extracting petroleum from the thick goop is a dirtier process than conventional methods. It also requires more energy that could significantly increase greenhouse gases linked to global warming. I will think as such move has given quite good credits to BP.

To me, both parties should have corporation in handling as such environmental issues in order to ensure safety of any natures (aquatic life as well as human beings) are given first priority. Without granting any approval, BP would not act beyond the legal limits.

A very good reading!!

My friend forwarded the following email to me which I think is a good reading and would like to share with you all. Enjoy your reading!

**************************************************************

Interesting aspects of life - Warren Buffet

There was a one hour interview on CNBC with Warren Buffet, the secondrichest man who has donated $31 billion to charity. Here are some very interesting aspects of his life:

  1. He bought his first share at age 11 and he now regrets that he startedtoo late!
  2. He bought a small farm at age 14 with savings from deliveringnewspapers.
  3. He still lives in the same small 3-bedroom house in mid-town Omaha, that he bought after he got married 50 years ago. He says that he has everything he needs in that house. His house does not have a wall or afence.
  4. He drives his own car everywhere and does not have a driver or security people around him.
  5. He never travels by private jet, although he owns the world's largest private jet company.
  6. His company, Berkshire Hathaway, owns 63 companies. He writes only one letter each year to the CEOs of these companies, giving them goals for theyear. He never holds meetings or calls them on a regular basis. He has given his CEO's only two rules. Rule number 1: do not lose any of your share holder's money. Rule number 2: Do not forget rule number 1.
  7. He does not socialize with the high society crowd. His past time after he gets home is to make himself some pop corn and watch Television.
  8. Bill Gates, the world's richest man met him for the first time only 5 years ago. Bill Gates did not think he had anything in common with WarrenBuffet. So he had scheduled his meeting only for half hour. But when Gatesmet him, the meeting lasted for ten hours and Bill Gates became a devotee of Warren Buffet.
  9. Warren Buffet does not carry a cell phone, nor has a computer on his desk.

His advice to young people: Stay away from credit cards and invest inyourself and remember:
  • Money doesn't create man but it is the man who created money.
  • Live your life as simple as you are.
  • Don't do what others say, just listen them, but do what you feelgood.
  • Don't go on brand name; just wear those things in which u feelcomfortable.
  • Don't waste your money on unnecessary things; just spend on them whoreally in need rather.
  • After all it's your life then why give chance to others to rule our life."

PPP: Hotel Reservations.

I love travel. When I travel, since I am a mother now I prefer to plan my schedule and my lodging before my departure. I do not like one day trip, the trip that need me to start my journey from my place early in the morning then get home very late in the night. When I visit a country, even the country is very near which many people will make it a one day trip, I still prefer to have one night stay at that country. Why? I just do not want to make myself too rush with the visit and I always want a relax trip which I can enjoy my holidays with my family.

Choosing a Hotel is not an easy task, espeacially when you need to book a hotel in a place which you are not familiar with. Of course everybody prefer to have Cheap Hotels with good services, right? Now it is very easy for you to plan your lodging online with hotelreservations.com.

Many people will think like this: "I want a free and easy trip. I will go to my destination first then only I look for a hotel room there." I do not think that this is a wise way to travel. You might pay more than what you actually need to pay. You also might be wasting your precious time looking for a place to stay while actually you can use the time to visit some nice place there. By searching and booking your loding at hotelreservations.com, you can save a lot of trouble during the trip. They are offering Hotel Discounts where, you even can save up to 70% off on some Hotels, Motels and Resort! You see, you can use the money that you have save on your loding fees on other purposes, for example buying souvenior or have a good meal.

Want to plan for a free and easy tour? Why not try to book your loding at hotelreservations.com? It is simple and easy to use website. Have a nice trip!

PPP: Reading Tutor.

Reading is a very good habit that I think most of the parents would like their children to keep this habit. I try to let Anne play with books when she was a young baby. I wish to train her to like book more than other toys. I do not wish that my children do not like reading!

One of my neighbour's children do not like reading at all! The mother told me that her children are having difficulty keeping up with their reading assignments, this can seriously affect they motivation and confidence! I would like to advise the mother to send her children for a Reading Tutors at SCORE! so that the children can pick up the interest of reading as soon as possible.

Score Learning centers helps children ages 4 to 14 make significant academic progress in an innovative tutoring environment. I am sure it's worth to invest some of your money in this.

It's Summer now...

It's summer in Netherlands now. Summer! But I do not feel summer! The weather is so windy most of the time. The sun is bright and hot most of the time, but with the wind blow, I can feel the cold all the time! Sun rise as early as 6:ooam. Sun set as late as 11:oopm! We only have 7 hours of dark time a day! Anyway, I prefer summer than winter. So I must enjoy myself to the fullest before Autumn come! By that time we will have more dark time! Sienzzz...

Oh SUN-SHINE!!! This weekend plan to go Children Farm again! I hope we have good weather! :-)

PPP: Online shopping again!!!

Online shopping is great and easy. You do not have to squeeze with other to grab offer items. You also do not need to queue to pay! You do not have to chase and play hide and seek with your toodler as well. I just love to do online shopping. When I first started to shop online, I do not know anything about coupons code. I spent a lot of money on air-mail charges. I was so happy to know about coupons code where I can get discounts by using the coupons provided. Most importantly some even can waive my air-mail charges. Isn't this a great news for a stay at home mother who wish to save a much as possible?

Always shop online like me? There is another site which is just right for you. KeepCash.com is a site where you can get thousands of online coupon codes and save your money when shopping online. Their products include cribs and furniture, car seats, strollers, formula, diapers, bedding, clothing for preemies through size 48 months, toys, and plenty of unique gift ideas. For a mother, I am sure you can save alot by using Babies R Us Coupons.

Besides buying things for my girl, I think I also have to treat myself good, right? I am quite surprise to see Avon Coupons here. Avon is the world's leading direct seller of beauty and related products. I believe most Malaysian know this brand. May be I should use some of my hard earn money to buy some Avon product and make myself more attractive.

Found what you like to buy? Found your coupons?

Formula Milk

It's quite difficult to get formula for children more than 18 months here. Ang-moh prefers to start giving their children fresh milk when their children are 1 year old. Anyway, me as a Malaysian decided to listen to Malaysian pead.'s advise to give Anne formula. Since Anne turned 18 months old, I started to look for a formula which is for children 1 - 3 year old. Yes, only one brand I can get, not other choice.

Anyway, the advertisement is out everywhere but I cannot see any tin in supermarket! Finally we found a tin left in a shop and we fast-fast grab it. Since we know there's another same shop in the next city The Hague, we had purposely took tram to go The Hague and get another 2 tin. We afraid we will have difficulty to get one when the only tin finish. So susah! One tin only 900g and already cost Euro 9.90, so expensive! May be I should consider to let Anne drink fresh milk!

Alexa Score

Most of the blogger who write paid-post know about this Alexa Score. I have a question on this. My blog's Alexa Score is "N/A". Do you know why? What should I do to so that my Alexa Score is no more a "N/A" but a value? I believe I am not qualified for some opportunities due to this reason. Help me please.

PPP: The Survivor!

Have you ever imagine what will happen to you when you were stranded in an unknown city with no money or resources? How would you eat? Where would you sleep? What about the weather?

I always join my girl to watch her Barney show, so my imagination is as good as Barney the purple dinasor! No money is not a main issue. I believe there are a lot of kind people out there. As long as I am willing to work for them, I am sure the boss will give some food or money as exchange. I can work in a restaurant as waitress or cleaner or any work that I can do. With my hands sure I can work to earn my own money! With the money I earn, I can get any resources I need. I might need a longer time but what to rush for? We must enjoy our life to the fullest even when you are in trouble. God will only put you under a situation where you can handle it! That's why I always believe that I can overcome every problem with the wisdom that God had grant me. What about a place to sleep. Not a problem at all! During spring or summer when the weather is good with sun shinny day, I can sleep with nature. Means, in any garden, under a bridge or in between trees. Not everyone have this kind of opportunity to sleep with nature you know? Autumn and winter will be very challenging to me because I am afraid of cold! Then I should find a more proper place to sleep, eg. in a public toilet? Or I think I will look for a stay in job where the boss will provide me a place to sleep. That's better~

How about you? How you will survive when you are in this situation? Will you do what I suggest or you prefer to learn the survivor skill from Michael Weston, a CIA Operative on USA Network's new TV series, Burn Notice? To learn from him, visit here! I must say that he is a professional!

Upset!

We have a lot of chinese here, mostly from China, Taiwan or Hong Kong. But the way they speak Mandarin is different with us, I only can speak Malaysian Mandarin with Loong and Anne.

I was so happy when Loong told me that one of his friend got an offer to study in IHE. At the same time he is given another choice to go Australia. According to their boss, the courses offered by IHE is better than Australia. That's why I am putting high hope that he will choose to come here. At least I can have another friend here because his wife is coming with him. His wife is same age as me, last time when I was preggy with Anne, we went to Cherating together. But today, he emailed Loong telling that he choose Australia. Main reason is, application for Netherlands Visa is very troublesome and costly too. For Master students, IHE only help their students to apply the Visa, not their family (For Ph.D students IHE will apply for the students and family). So, there is possibility that he need to come here first and his wife later. That's why they choose to go Australia together.

Aiyaaaa.... I am so upset now!

PPP: Lucky SEVEN!!!

I read so many bloggers posted about this news pass few day. I was wondering, how come I cannot get any opportunities??!?! I am not aiming for big money, OK? Finally, when I signed-in to PPP today I am so happy to see this opportunity is available for me to take. I can earn 10.77 USD by this post! YES, very easy task!!!!

I bet, this is a greatest news for all bloggers who had signed-up with PPP. PPP raised another $7 million. $7 million!!! What should they do with the $7 million? I think all the staffs in PPP deserve a raise in their pay. They are working hard to help us to earn our money, right? Next, more opportunities should be giving out to all blogger without segmentation... I need this because my blog do not have a good PR! :-)

I started to enjoy writing paid-post now. I learned about blog ethics thru PPP also. PayPerPost itself has no restrictions on how we can express our genuine thoughts on an advertiser's product or service. But we must bear in mind that, a blogger should be responsible to what he/she had wrote. Dishonest or completely off-topic posts can ultimately hurt your own blog's credibility.

Anyway, I am hoping that PPP will give more surprise to me in future! Well-done to PayPerPost!

Press Release:

The PayPerPost Revolution Accelerates, Sponsored
Blogging Marketplace Secures $7 Million Series B

Draper Fisher Jurvetson leads round and joins Board of Directors

ORLANDO, FL – (June 12, 2007) – PayPerPost, the leading marketplace for advertisers to reach bloggers and other consumer content creators, today announced it has completed a $7 million second round investment led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, an investor in the company's Series A and one of the world’s leading high-technology venture capital firms. The financing brings the total amount of capital raised by PayPerPost to over $10 million, giving the company considerable resources for further development as the industry’s leading Consumer Generated Advertising marketplace. Additional participants in the round include existing investors Inflexion Partners and Village Ventures as well as new investor DFJ Gotham. With this investment, DFJ Managing Director Josh Stein also joins PayPerPost’s Board of Directors.

“PayPerPost created this exciting new advertising space and has established itself as the industry leader,” said Ted Murphy, chief executive officer of PayPerPost. “Although we’ve only used a portion of our first round capital, this added support from investors unlocks significant growth potential. Our content creator and advertiser ROI metrics clearly demonstrate the upside for PayPerPost’s model. We intend to use this capital to build the infrastructure, visibility and professional expertise necessary to reach and retain a greater network of advertisers and content creators than ever before.”

Since its founding in June of 2006, PayPerPost has signed more than 6,500 advertisers to its groundbreaking service, which has enabled Consumer Content Creators to be compensated for their efforts discussing specific companies, products or services via blogs, videos or other media. The content creators are required to disclose relationships with advertisers on their blog, providing transparency for the end reader. Over 125,000 Internet postings, most in the form of blogs, have already earned money for their creators through PayPerPost’s innovative marketplace. PayPerPost recently released PayPerPost Direct, a disruptive new service that allows advertisers to contract and negotiate directly with individual bloggers they identify through a safe, managed system.

“PayPerPost has laid a strong foundation for the future,” noted Tim Draper, founder and managing director of Draper Fisher Jurvetson. “It continues to attract a critical mass of participants from both the advertising and blogging communities. Analogous to Overture’s sponsored search model, we believe PayPerPost’s business model holds disruptive potential and will enable the company to thrive in the evolving paid-content arena.”

To mark the $7 million dollar funding, PayPerPost has launched a new website detailing the company’s service offering at http://www.payperpost.com. Bloggers and advertisers can easily sign up at the site and begin leveraging the self service marketplace.

I am currently a stay at home mother. I spent 24 hours a day with my girl. It's very difficult for me to go shopping with a toddler who loves to run around. The best way for me to buy my things is by online shopping.

I started to shop online more often after I came to Netherlands. I am glad that I found Coupon Chief, a site provided thousands of coupons for you to choose from. You can save a lot by using these coupons code. Recently I love to shop at this shop: BabyCenter. Currently they are givng out Free Shipping on orders of $49 or more. You even can get cheaper toys there because they are also having Summer Clearance: Save up to 60% on Outdoor Toys Gear and Swimwear now!

Wanna buy new toys for your kids? This is a great place for you to shop online!

I am tired!

I am feeling tired. I have been taking care of Anne alone most of the time for nearly one month! Loong is so busy that he is always not at home with us. Even when he is at home, he will be sitting in front of the PC either checking and replying email or writing his proposal! I am getting sick of this kind of life!

At first I thought after he presented his proposal on monday (11 June), then he can spent more time at home. But no, he prefers to attend most of the Ph.D seminar organised by IHE every day among this week. Then, he joined and plan to join some other technical visits with IEM delegates from Malaysia (currently in Netherland for 1 week). He said, those visits very good woh!

Yesterday night came home nearly 2am, went out "drinking" with his friends lah! Not always got friends coming from Malaysia, right? OK-lor. Then, tonight he is at Amsterdam with his friends again, they have a full day program at Amsterdam tomorrow. He said better go over tonight to stay with them so that tomorrow he no need to wake up so early to take the train to Amsterdam! Apa saja lah!! Go lah!! Yes, I am a little bit "beh song"!! Day time already always not at home, now enven night time also not at home! Sienzzz!

I think he is thinking to join the dinner host by one of our Minister from Malaysia who happen to attend a meeting in Netherlands this week. Why so many program happen this week one!!!??!?!?! I NEED A BREAK NOW!!!! NOW!!!!

PPP: I joined PayPerPost

This is a sponsored post.

After seeing many blogger earning money easily by writing paid-post, finally I signed up for PPP and start advertise on blogs. I cannnot remember the actual date I joined PPP, but I remember that my blog was approved by PPP on 17 April 2007.

I took my first oppurtunity to write about Drug-Rehab. This is my first approved paid-post and I earned my first $12 online. Although my blog do not have a good PR, but still I have some oppurtunities to write. I had wrote 10 paid-post in a month, and guess what? My earning is reaching USD 100 now! I believe I can earn my first USD 100 soon!

Why I joined PayPerPost? Of course due to the reason that I would like to earn money lah! You see, I used to be a career women before I followed my husband here in The Netherlands. I used to have income. Since I came here, I fully depended to my husband if I need to buy something. I was so happy to find out about PayPerPost which I am able to earn money again although I am a full-time-housewife now!!

I learned a lot after joining PayPerPost. For example, before I started to write any post, I have to do some reading first! This improve my knowledge in certain issue. My english also improved a little bit because PayPerPost requested us to write in english ONLY!

Time to go home!

Finally we had set the date for us to go back to Malaysia end of this year. I want to escape from the winter! Hehee.... Cannot stand the cold weather lah! But I think I still have to go through 2009's winter...

Loong had bought tickets for Anne and I. Why his ticket no need to buy? Because his ticket is sponsored by his scholarship sponsor. He need to go back for data collection for approximately 3 months. His supervisor and promoter will visit Malaysia early next year as well, to see the condition in Malaysia. Since Loong is going back, of course I want to follow also lah! What am I going to do here if I stay back at Netherlands alone with Anne, right? 3 months!!! I don't want!

Anyway, we spent Euro1550+ for tickets for 2 of us! Aiyaaaa... Need to ikat perut for the rest of the months liaooooo... Anne's ticket already cost us Euro 688+. We should go back before Anne turns 2 hor, save a lot! But cannot lah, Loong have to do something here also...

I miss Malaysia's hawker food now!!! *drooling badly*
